Leadership Guide 1 - How I Wish It Would Have Gone

The Ultimate Guide to Managing Your Emotions in the Workplace

a note from Coach Mandy:

Dear Leader: I used to be the kind of person that bottled up my regrets, locking them into the darkest corners of my heart.

I was the only one that knew where the key was. And on lonely nights, when the world was sleeping but my mind was wide awake, I’d tiptoe into the attic of my heart and hold those moments in my hand like a snow globe, staring at it, trying to shrink myself into it again. Just for a moment. To finally make sense of what hurt and what was still affecting me even though I tried my hardest not to let it.

In the pages of my twenty-seven journals from the last ten years, you’ll find questions and answers and letters of how I wish things would have gone. What I would have said, had I been able to. How I see things now, versus how I saw them, then.

Every time I scrolled a story of how I wish it would’ve gone, I noticed something: A lesson was learned. Strength was gained, character built, and hope sparked again.

Somehow, processing it in the pages of my journal, helped me make sense of things so I could eventually move on and let go of the inner conflict I had locked within. And through this process, my emotional intelligence grew and my leadership skills improved.

Chances are, you have some inner conflict, too. Maybe you replay conversations, regrets, and embarrassing events over and over in your mind, too. I have a sneaking suspicion I’m not the only one.

The good news is that this Leadership Guide is your step-by-step process to develop your emotional intelligence and stability as a leader.

This guide uses a technique shared in the RESILIENCE module of our RAYMA Foundations™ leadership program.

The purpose of this workbook is to help you embrace self-awareness and personal accountability, so IF and WHEN the time comes to confront conflict, you are prepared with possible solutions and a clear picture of how the conflict affected you, personally, so you can communicate effectively.

This is the go-to guide that I use when I need to gain perspective on anything. It’s a tool Coach Raychel uses as well. And it’s a tool that our clients use, too.

If you commit to using it consistently, you’ll develop your emotional intelligence faster than ever before. You’ll become a leader who knows how to manage your emotions well and inspires others to do the same.

Sincerely,
~Coach Mandy
