How To Say No When You Want To Say Yes

Have you ever found yourself saying yes to something and eventually (or immediately) regretted that you didn't say no? 

As a recovering people-pleaser I understand this urge to always say yes because you don't want to disappoint anyone. But eventually saying yes when I should have said no led to overwhelm and burnout. 

Sometimes the hardest time to say no is when the opportunity is a good one, but not great for you. 

 

Maybe you've been asked to do something you are great at or passionate about. Or, it's a request from someone you've always wanted to work with. Or, maybe saying yes will open up new opportunities. But in all reality no matter how good the opportunity is, it simply doesn't fit into your current schedule and priorities.

Maybe it's because they believe a myth about rest, and it is sabotaging their efforts without them even realizing it.
